Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a family of musicians. She spent most of her early years listening to classical music, boleros from the past, classic ranchero or romantic songs along with older classical songs. Ana is a lover of opera and tangos, along with any dramatic performance. Ana started learning how to play and sing at an early age alongside her mother. She received more formal vocal training at the age of 16 old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music at the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was a member of many opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. When she moved in the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present home in the southern part of California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. Ana is involved in a variety of local projects and is a teacher and performer, because of her passion of music and art. Ana was a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to bring to others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to continue the tradition.
